I am an EST at Lakeland College in Vermillion. In 2023 there was so much wildfire in the West. For a straight week there was smoke in Saskatoon, and I could barely see the street in front of me, it hurt to know that there are people's homes burning and families having to evacuate their lands. 
I dropped everything I was working towards and answered the call of duty. I am here to be a firefighter so that I could save lives and protect homes in hopes that they'll never have to abandon their safety ever again.
