I'm fundraising for...

Dear Friends and Family, 

I hope this message finds you well. This year, it is the 8th time when I have accepted the challenge to climb Calgary’s tallest building, Brookfield Place, on June 9, 2024, for the Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge in support of Wellspring Alberta. As I train to climb with my friends and colleagues, our goal is to raise awareness and funds for Wellspring Alberta, a charity that provides free programs, services, and support to individuals living with cancer, including those diagnosed, caregivers, and kids. 

In the last 4 years my family has been hit very hard with Cancer. At first, it was my father in law, then my husband and a dear friend which I considered as my uncle. while my father in law is still fighting this cruel disease, my dear friend passed away. My son and I are lucky to still have Daan (father/husband) with us, tho every 6 months checkup appointments are mentally very hard. Unfortunately "my uncle" lost the battle with cancer within one year has been diagnosed. In the last year many other people I know started this battle, including my dear friend Dawna M. We never thought we will need to use Wellspring services but we did for a bit and a it was very helpful for us. We encourage all of you to do it!

This year fundraiser is done for my father in law Frans and my dear friend Dawna, and in the memory of too many dear friends lost to cancer. Frans, keep fighting, all your family got your back. Dawna you have been my friend since I arrived to Canada and I'm forever grateful for the support you gave me as a Newcomer and not having a family and friends here. You got this battle!
