Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge

I'm fundraising for...

I am participating in the Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge taking place this June in support of Wellspring Alberta. I am excited to take on the challenge and look forward to pushing myself to climb in support of people living with cancer.

By donating to me, you are helping to make a difference in the lives of many! Proceeds from the event will support Wellspring Alberta, an organization that provides free programs, services and support to individuals living with cancer – those diagnosed, caregivers and kids. Wellspring Alberta will gift a portion of the proceeds to the Firefighters Assistance Charitable Society (FACS) whose mission is to empower and strengthen the firefighter by enhancing the success and resilience of the firefighter community.

Hi! 

My name is Cynthia Niznik. I am a volunteer paid-on-call Firefighter with the town of Crossfield.  I have been a member since 2021. 

I am so excited to take on this challenge and help raise money for the Wellspring program.  Unfortunately, I have known far too many individuals and families that have gone through the heartbreaking challenges of cancer. 
My own maternal grandmother fought breast, uterine, and skin cancer throughout her life. She was an amazing woman and as hard as nails. In her younger days she was also a volunteer firefighter, making me a 3rd generation volunteer female  firefighter. I am dedicating this Climb to her!
