I am participating in the Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge taking place this June in support of Wellspring Alberta. I am excited to take on the challenge and look forward to pushing myself to climb in support of people living with cancer.
This past October, Mira Penney, passed away after a courageous battle with brain cancer... she was only 11 years old. I have dedicated the last two climbs to her and I will continue to climb in her memory. Mira always had a smile on her face and lived for each day no matter how she was feeling. No-one should ever have to face cancer alone and it is because of this that I climb each year.
By donating to me, you are helping to make a difference in the lives of many! Proceeds from the event will support Wellspring Alberta, an organization that provides free programs, services and support to individuals living with cancer – those diagnosed, caregivers and kids. Wellspring Alberta will gift a portion of the proceeds to the Firefighters Assistance Charitable Society (FACS) whose mission is to empower and strengthen the firefighter by enhancing the success and resilience of the firefighter community.
