2024 Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge

I'm fundraising for...

I am participating in the Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge taking place this June in support of Wellspring Alberta. I am excited to take on the challenge and look forward to pushing myself to climb in support of people living with cancer.

By donating to me, you are helping to make a difference in the lives of many! Proceeds from the event will support Wellspring Alberta, an organization that provides free programs, services and support to individuals living with cancer – those diagnosed, caregivers and kids. Thank you for helping us make a difference in the life of someone facing cancer so that no one has to face cancer alone! For more information about Wellspring Alberta, visit wellspringalberta.ca.

Wellspring Alberta will gift a portion of the proceeds to the Firefighters Assistance Charitable Society (FACS) whose mission is to empower and strengthen the firefighter by enhancing the success and resilience of the firefighter community.

Please support me and these deserving organizations today by making your tax-deductible donation online.

Sunday 24th Mar
Hey friends!
We are about 3 months away from the 10th annual Firefighter Stair Climb challenge! I have been training weekly at the gym at the pool I work at. I do 57 "flights" of stairs in about 20 - 25 minutes. I have been wearing a 50 lb weighted vest on a stair stepper machine and let me tell ya - that thing is HEAVY! I am fairly certain heavier than my actual SCBA! But I figured if I train in something heavier, then the SCBA is going to feel easy come climbing day!
Right?!

I have been humbled and encouraged by the messages sent to me and the donations of friends from long ago, family who consistently is rooting for me, and even strangers who saw the post shared!
Events like this are not only a physical and mental challenge for those participating but the greater cause of coming together in support of those diagnosed with cancer and their families- this is what causes me to feel the PURPOSE and UNITY in what we are doing.
This week my nine year old needed surgery on her arm, as she had a bad break and it wasn't healing properly. Any stint I've had in the hospital with one of my kids has been relatively short lived and for that I'm grateful. I know this is not the case for many others. Many live at the hospital, being treated, tested, doing all they can to fight and make choices that will increase their chances of winning the battle. This is a burden that takes a toll on not only them, but every single person who loves and cares for them.

Thank you for being a part of bearing that burden and standing with them.
Please consider sharing in the hopes of even more proceeds raised to help those living with cancer and their families.

Thank you to my Sponsors
