2026 Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge

Help me support Wellspring through my Firefighter Stairclimb

I am participating in the Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge taking place this June in support of Wellspring Alberta. I am excited to take on the challenge and look forward to pushing myself to climb in support of people living with cancer.

By donating to me, you are helping to make a difference in the lives of many! Proceeds from the event will support Wellspring Alberta, an organization that provides free programs, services and support to individuals living with cancer – those diagnosed, caregivers and kids. Thank you for helping us make a difference in the life of someone facing cancer so that no one has to face cancer alone! For more information about Wellspring Alberta, visit wellspringalberta.ca.

Wellspring Alberta will gift a portion of the proceeds to the Firefighters Assistance Charitable Society (FACS) whose mission is to empower and strengthen the firefighter by enhancing the success and resilience of the firefighter community.

Please support me and these deserving organizations today by making your tax-deductible donation online.

The Reason That I Climb

Sunday 19th Apr
In November of 2025 I lost my Dad to cancer. My Dad was the strongest man I knew. He fought this terrible disease right until the end. My Dad spent 30 years in Emergency Services as an RCMP officer.

In the last couple years I've had members of my department and members of neighboring departments participate in the Stair Climb Challenge. So this year I thought I'd give it a try.

In 2023 I fell and ruptured my Patellar Tendon (this is the tendon that holds the knee cap to the tabia). I had to have surgery to repair (reattach) the tendon and wasn't able to bend my knee for 2 and a half months while the tendon healed. Once I started rehab I was in a mobility knee brace to limit how much I was able to bend my knee. I was in this brace for 6 months and I was also off work for 3 months from the day of my injury. So training for the Stair Climb Challenge has helped me in strengthening my knee.

I've been on the Three Hills Fire Department for 16 years and was promoted to Fire Chief 2 years ago. I am looking forward to taking on this challenge for my Dad and everyone that has fought or is still fighting Cancer.
