I've created this page because I want to make a difference.

I have enjoyed cycling all my life and Stage 4 Bowel Cancer has seriously impacted my ability to go for much loved long rides and touring adventures. Sir Chris Hoys’ Stage 4 Prostate Cancer diagnosis came as a shock but inspired me to ride his cycle challenge, The Tour de 4, in Scotland on September 7th. I have entered the hilly 90km ride which even on an Ebike, presents me with my biggest cycling challenge ever. I am currently on another course of chemotherapy, and have no idea what the future holds. I may have to lower my aspirations, but for now, I will think big. Andy will be riding with me and we want you to join us in supporting good causes.

I'm raising money for Wellspring, a Canadian charity, who have generously provided me with much needed support over the past two years.

Wellspring helps people with cancer live better. Your donation will help provide programs and services that meet the emotional, spiritual, social, physical and practical needs of people living with cancer and those who care for them. All backed by research.

Thank you in advance for your generosity. Whatever you can give, means a lot!

With love

I tackled a steep hill!

Tuesday 1st Apr
The ride in September starts from the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome in Glasgow, heads NE out into the wild Scottish terrain for a 90km loop with 1100m of climbing before returning to the velodrome to finish. I hope the weather will be kind.
Due to health problems, I doubt I have ridden more than 50 km in the past 5 years- and mainly on an Ebike. I shall stick with the Ebike, but nonetheless a whole day of activity is a daunting proposition and I have to learn how to manage fatigue for such a ride. I’m elated, today I rode an old favourite route up a gruelling steep hill onto the Blackdowns. 25km and 300m of climbing I rode in Turbo all the way, I still found it tough, but what a wonderful descent!!. Will I be able to tackle Addcombe four times in September? Riding in Scotland will be bleaker and the weather may be unhelpful but I just have to hold in there to September! I can do this!
