Help me support Wellspring through my Firefighter Stairclimb
On June 14th I'll be climbing 57 floors and 1370 steps to the top of Brookfield place in Calgary alongside hundreds of other firefighters from across the country and beyond.
Why? Cancer is the #1 cause of line of duty deaths for firefighters. In addition to the day to day risks on the job, firefighters are more likely to be diagnosed with many types of cancer than the general public.
The Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge, now in it's 12th year raises funds for Wellspring Alberta, a charitable organization that provides free programs, services and support to individuals living with cancer – those diagnosed, caregivers, and kids. Wellspring ensures that no one has to face cancer alone!
In addition, Wellspring Alberta will gift a portion of the proceeds to the Firefighters Assistance Charitable Society (FACS) whose mission is to empower and strengthen the firefighter by enhancing the success and resilience of the firefighter community.

Tuesday 12th May 😲😲 thank you everyone for helping me reach my $1800 goal with still a month to go!! I didn't really know what to put as a goal so chose 1800 to represent my 18 months of probation (finished in March!) but let's see now if I can get to 2500 - for the 25 years to come for me in this career. Curling club stairs this Friday at 5 if you want to join!
