2026 Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge

Help me support Wellspring through my Firefighter Stairclimb

I am participating in the Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge taking place this June in support of Wellspring Alberta. I am excited to take on the challenge and look forward to pushing myself to climb in support of people living with cancer.

By donating to me, you are helping to make a difference in the lives of many! Proceeds from the event will support Wellspring Alberta, an organization that provides free programs, services and support to individuals living with cancer – those diagnosed, caregivers and kids. Thank you for helping us make a difference in the life of someone facing cancer so that no one has to face cancer alone! For more information about Wellspring Alberta, visit wellspringalberta.ca.

Wellspring Alberta will gift a portion of the proceeds to the Firefighters Assistance Charitable Society (FACS) whose mission is to empower and strengthen the firefighter by enhancing the success and resilience of the firefighter community.

Please support me and these deserving organizations today by making your tax-deductible donation online.

Because it Matters

Thursday 5th Feb
Three Years. Every Step Earned.
I’ve completed the Stair Climb Challenge for three years—and one thing has never changed:
it’s hard every single time.
The climb doesn’t get easier. The weight never feels lighter. The stairs never end sooner than you want them to. And that’s exactly why this challenge matters.
Why the Stair Climb Matters
Firefighting doesn’t happen on flat ground.
It happens in stairwells—under load, under pressure, and under stress.
The Stair Climb Challenge gives participants a real-world glimpse into what firefighters face on calls. Wearing weighted gear while climbing flight after flight forces you to manage breathing, fatigue, and mindset—just like on the job.
After three years of climbing, the lesson is clear:
this challenge is as much mental as it is physical.
What Three Climbs Teach You
Each year brings something different:
The weight feels heavier when you’re tired
Breathing becomes the only thing you can focus on
Your legs burn, but your mind keeps you moving
The stairs don’t care how strong you think you are
The only way up is one step at a time.
And when you finish, you don’t feel pride first—you feel respect. Respect for firefighters who do this for real, when lives are on the line.
Who This Challenge Is For
You don’t need to be a firefighter to take part.
This challenge is for:
Firefighters & first responders
Community members wanting a true test
Athletes looking for mental toughness
Anyone who wants to better understand the job
Show up. Strap in. Keep climbing.
More Than a Workout
The Stair Climb Challenge isn’t about speed or competition.
It’s about honour, resilience, and remembering why firefighters train the way they do.
Three years in, and I’ll say this confidently:
I’ll keep coming back—because it matters.
