Every Step Has a Story
“No one should have to face cancer alone.”
This year, I’m climbing again — not just for myself, but for the people I love and for everyone whose life has been touched by cancer.
I’m climbing for my dad — a cancer survivor, the strongest man I know, and my hero. He fought quietly, selflessly, and never let his battle take away from being there for his family. He beat it. I’m climbing for you, Dad.
I’m climbing for my Grandma “B” — the kindest soul, the warmest home, and a love so deep it filled every room. She fought with grace and strength and spent her days surrounded by family, sunshine, and her garden. I miss her every day.
I’m climbing for my Grandpa Baxter — a man with a huge heart, endless stories, tight hugs, and a contagious smile. Even while fighting cancer, all he wanted was time with his family. His love still surrounds us.
And I’m climbing for my Grandpa Roland and Grandma Theresa — who both fought cancer just last year and did it together. Watching them ring that bell cancer-free showed more than emotion — it showed strength, drive, and the power of partnership. My grandpa is a strong, driven man who gives selflessly, always teaching life lessons shaped by a hard-earned past. He may be stubborn, but it’s because he wants better for his family than what he endured.
Cancer has touched my family many times — but so has resilience, love, and hope.
If this makes you think of someone you love, I hope you’ll consider donating to support my climb and WellSpring Calgary, helping ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
Thank you for reading.
I’m climbing for them.
