I am participating in Challenge the Chief taking place this June in support of Wellspring Alberta. I am excited to take on the challenge and look forward to pushing myself to climb in support of people living with cancer.

Wellspring Alberta will gift a portion of the proceeds to the Firefighters Assistance Charitable Society (FACS) whose mission is to empower and strengthen the firefighter by enhancing the success and resilience of the firefighter community.

Challenge the Chief
Monday 11th May
A few years ago, I went through the hardest experience of my life—to walk towards life saving medical treatment to kill a cancer that was destroying me and step into the unknown.
Survivorship has not just been about removing the cancer; it has been about rebuilding my spirit, finding my voice, and showing myself that healing is possible. These past years have taught me resilience and the courage to enjoy life again.
Being here now means more than just sharing my story—it’s about standing as proof that recovery is real. I have the strength to move forward, and I am blessed to have a second chance at life.
I am fortunate to share my story of survival with you. After various treatments and procedures, I have found a "new normal." I am well and healthy; walking my dog, swimming, and travelling. While the experience remains frightening, there is no evidence of recurrence. I am not just surviving; I am a victor.
I am now training to participate in the Challenge the Chief Stair Climb.
I will climb the Bow Tower's 57 stories and 1,370 steps to raise funds for Wellspring Alberta, a charity that supports Albertans affected by cancer. Most importantly, Wellspring connected me to others with similar experiences. I am never alone. Wellspring truly is everything and everywhere in cancer care.
This milestone isn’t just for me—it’s for anyone out there fighting, questioning, or holding on by a thread. Your next step could be the one that changes everything.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and even more proud to keep walking this road—for myself, for Wellspring, and for those still searching for hope.
