This September, I’m taking on the Skyline Rush Challenge to raise funds for Wellspring Alberta.
I’ve always loved adventure and challenging myself, but this one is about more than the thrill. It’s about supporting a community I believe in deeply: Wellspring Alberta.
I’ve seen what that community can mean. I’ve seen people find their footing again after the ground beneath them gave way. I’ve seen laughter return where fear once lived, and hope grow in the most unexpected moments.
A big part of that magic comes from our volunteers. Many of them have experienced cancer themselves, and they bring wisdom, empathy, and kindness into every corner of Wellspring. They greet members at the door, host programs, run groups, and build connections. They’re the heart of a community that is truly extraordinary, a place where people come as they are, and find strength in one another.
Cancer changes everything, not just for the person diagnosed, but for their entire family. Wellspring is there to meet people in those moments, to help them navigate the emotional, social, and practical challenges of the journey.
That’s why I’m stepping over the edge. My goal is to help Wellspring Alberta can continue to provide these vital programs and build the kind of community that makes such a difference for so many.
