Help me support Wellspring through my Skyline Rush Challenge
I’m going over the edge for Wellspring Alberta — and for me, this one is personal.
On October 3, I’ll be stepping backwards over the edge of the Courtyard Edmonton Downtown and rappelling 24 storeys — 240 feet — as part of the Skyline Rush Challenge in support of Wellspring Alberta.
I joined the challenge a little last-minute, but saying yes was an easy decision.
As a two-time Stage 4 cancer survivor, I know firsthand how dramatically a cancer diagnosis can change your world — and the world of the people who love you.
Cancer affects far more than your physical health. It touches your family, your relationships, your work, your finances, your emotions, your mental health, and your sense of what comes next. Having the right people and support around you can make an enormous difference.
That’s why the work of Wellspring Alberta means so much to me.
Wellspring provides free programs, resources, and a supportive community for people living with cancer, as well as their caregivers and loved ones. It’s support that extends beyond medical treatment and helps people navigate everything else that comes with a cancer diagnosis.
So, yes, stepping backwards over the edge of a 24-storey building is going to be a little nerve-wracking. 😬
But I’ve faced some pretty daunting challenges before. This time, I get to take one on by choice — and for a cause that hits very close to home.
I may have gotten a late start on the fundraising, but I’m determined to make the time I have count.
