I'm fundraising for the Skyline Rush Challenge!

This September, I’m taking part in the Skyline Rush Challenge, where I'll be rappelling down a high-rise building in downtown Edmonton! Yes, you read that right – I’m stepping off the edge and descending more than 27 stories to raise funds and awareness for people living with cancer. It’s thrilling, a little terrifying, and totally worth it!

You may be wondering why I'm doing this. Well, last year, my husband of 25 years was diagnosed with cancer. Through much prayer, an intensive surgery, and a lot of recovery, I’m happy to say he’s doing much better, but will have to be monitored by specialists for the rest of his life. 

So why should you donate? By donating to me, you’re helping to make a difference in the lives of other cancer patients and their families—and possibly, in the life of someone important to you in the future. Proceeds from the event will support Wellspring Alberta, an organization that provides free programs, services and support to individuals living with cancer—those diagnosed, their caregivers, and their kids.

We didn’t use the services of Wellspring Alberta, as we hadn’t heard of it at the time, and we were fortunate to have a lot of love and support from our family. But now, having experienced how cancer can truly disrupt your life and affect your well-being and ability to manage everything... well, we can really understand how this charity could be an incredible support for those living with cancer, especially if they’re not fortunate enough to have the support of family and close friends.
