Cancer has touched so much of my life
Fourteen years ago, my wife and life partner, Joanne tragically passed away from breast cancer at the age of 52. She originally was diagnosed with the disease when she was 41. After beating it successfully it returned with a vengeance and took her life in 2011.
Prior to Joanne's passing pancreatic cancer claimed the life of my brother-in-law, Angus. Currently my sister, Laurie, is in palliative care with advanced, aggressive liver cancer.
But I will not let cancer take away my HOPE.
Through every heartbreak caused by cancer I remain positive. I understand the importance of community during difficult times, and that is why I have volunteered at Wellspring for 15+ years.
I am raising funds today in memory of my loved ones, and anyone who is currently on the cancer journey, I want you to know that you are not alone.
