3 times a charm...
I'm hittin the stairs for a third consecutive go, Raised $13K+ for the cause in year one with such incredible support from family and friends of my late wife. Pulled off ~$2200 in year two. The system deletes all my past bios and pictures so It's hard to re-write and think of everyone. Its actually exhausting. Sad that they don't recognize only but the top fundraiser for this event. I remember last year they didn't even get the correct guy for the prize... embarrassing to say the least and it was close and they both raised a ton of money. Might be my last year for a bit but I am committed for 2025. I got my eye set on Seattle stair climb March 2026... full gear on air... its the real deal.
This season I lost my Dad in September but not from cancer (pneumonia and poor Tx. in the hospital), However, he was a survivor of a bout of lymphoma back in 2011. Cancer has certainly affected the people in my life: my sister in law (Joanne) and brother in law (JohnEric) in Whitehorse, YT are both going through a tough fight as we speak. I climb for them and Shawn Roper (past FF and survivor - I almost forgot to add you bud - see what I mean...) and all the dearly departed (My Mom, my wife, Greg Pratt back in 2023 (tall fella pictured beside me) and many more... man' it's actually a long list...
Thanks for your support and the for the money that goes to the Wellspring folks who are helping Albertans thought their individual treatments etc... I'm not really aggressively fundraising this year so I'll get what I get. Already qualified so I'm good.
Also a special thanks to the Spencer and Beth at Polar Developments for letting me train in your building. It helps quite a bit to climb on real stairs.
