I'm fundraising for others who may be affected by cancer now and in the future, so they can benefit from the care and support of Wellspring, just like I did in 2023-2024.
On March 25, 2026, I will be walking the runway at Well Dressed for Spring in support of Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation at The Quay.
This event will help raise funds for the cancer support programs and services that Wellspring provides, at no cost, to individuals and families living with cancer.
When I was diagnosed with cancer in 2023, it brought everything that truly matters in my life into sharp focus in an instant. It was like staring down a telescope where all you can see rests within the circle at the end of the narrow scope and everything outside of that blurs into nothing. In the narrow circle at the end of my scope? Wanting to be around to see my two young children get married. Nothing beyond that really mattered to me in that moment.
Fast forward 2 years and many, many treatment hurdles later, I have been blessed with some significant silver linings in the form of the love and support of my family and friends (new and old). One thing I realized along this journey is that the vulnerability I felt in that moment and since - is transformative. The focus I felt in that moment and since has led me to believe that all that truly matters in this life is human connection, in the many varied forms we are privileged to experience it; from the love of family and friends to the transitory but meaningful kindness of strangers. During my journey, I learned to "fall backwards" on the trust of strangers I came to know at Wellspring, in my treatment team and everyone who offered encouragement as I took one step after another in my journey.
I hope to "pay it forward" through my Walk of Hope. Please help me along if you are able to.
