I'm fundraising for...
As many of you know, this spring I will be retiring from my role as CEO of Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation. The upcoming fashion show will be my final Wellspring event as CEO and while that is bittersweet, it also feels like a meaningful moment to reflect, give thanks, look forward and to walk the runway for the last time!
My connection to Wellspring is deeply personal. In 2008, I experienced my own cancer journey and came to understand firsthand that living with cancer is about so much more than medical treatment. It’s about emotional support, physical recovery, navigating fear and uncertainty, and not feeling alone. That experience is what drew me to Wellspring in 2013 and what has guided me throughout my time here.
Over the past 13 years, I have had the extraordinary privilege of helping lead Wellspring through a period of growth and transformation. What began as a locally based organization serving people in the surrounding community has become a nationally recognized charity, offering free, evidence-based support to people living with cancer in every province and territory. Together, we expanded online programs, strengthened our affiliate network, partnered with national organizations, and ensured that no matter where someone lives – or where they are on their cancer journey – support is within reach.
This decision to retire was not made lightly. Leading Wellspring has been one of the greatest honours of my life. I am stepping away to spend more time with my family, but I am not saying goodbye. Wellspring will always be part of my life, and I will continue to support this organization in every way I can.
If you are able, I invite you to make a gift to Wellspring in honour of this chapter and in support of what comes next. Your generosity will help ensure that Wellspring continues to grow, innovate, and reach more Canadians—free of charge, when they need it most.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me, and for believing, as I do, that no one should have to face cancer alone.
With immense gratitude,
Christina
