Why I’m Taking on the Skyline Rush Challenge

On September 13th, I’m grateful to be participating in the Skyline Rush Challenge, raising funds for cancer support programs. For me, this is not just a challenge - it’s deeply personal.

Cancer has touched my family in profound ways, most recently my mother who has faced this disease twice. First being diagnosed with Lymphoma in November 2005, and after numerous treatments, reached remission three years later. 

Most recently, in November 2025, she was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 3 Colon Cancer. After surgery and months of chemotherapy, she has completed her treatments this past spring. 

Her journey has shown me firsthand the physical, emotional, and financial toll cancer takes - not only on patients, but on their families. Sadly, our story is not unique. Thousands of families are navigating the same uncertainty, fear, and hope that come with a cancer diagnosis.

That’s why I’m participating in the Skyline Rush Challenge. The funds raised will help provide support and resources for people living with cancer and their loved ones - because no one should have to face this disease alone.
